2. Reviewing & Choosing Property Values
- When merging, HubSpot prompts you to select which property values to keep.
- Example:
- Two different emails → select the correct one.
- Different phone numbers → choose the valid one.
- Two different emails → select the correct one.
- The final merged record keeps the chosen values.
3. Adding More Properties to Compare
- HubSpot shows default properties (email, phone, etc.) during merge.
- You can add additional properties for review, e.g.:
- Contact Type
- Date of Birth
- City
- Contact Type
- This helps confirm accuracy when deciding which values to keep.
4. Finalizing the Merge
- After selecting all correct property values, click Merge & Review Next.
- The system creates a single combined contact record with the chosen values.
✅ Key Takeaway:
Merging duplicates in HubSpot is flexible—you can do it from the index page (for bulk-flagged duplicates) or directly from a contact record. Always review property values carefully and pull in extra fields if needed before finalizing the merge.
